Today is my least favorite day of the year. I get to tally up everything I've done while I was still young and 23, and compare it what I could've accomplished. What fun!
These hot, stressful days have me daydreaming about a vacation. Who wants to escape to Lake Tahoe for a couple of days? I’d walk down to the lake in the morning with something warm and caffeinated, find a boulder low enough to put my feet in the water, read a good book, and just chill.
i'm on a horseshit weekend streak
lost keys on friday
lost my mind trying to find them
i blame tile for not shipping their product on time
but seriously
why am i so awful at these things?
this did prompt me to organize,
and realize how much i rely on my bike,
... and make churros
thank god it's monday?
Last weekend I finally got around to hanging the poster I got at the Tycho concert. (It's signed!) I couldn't think of a good place for it until my mom had the brilliant idea of rearranging some other pieces. I like it here. Wouldn't it look badass juxtaposed with a vintage Dark Side of the Moon poster? Just sayin'.
Now that my "desk" is done, I'm playing around with the idea of replacing the couch. No rest for the wicked.
I'll be honest with you, I was a little wary of the pleats (anchorman anyone?). But they are just the right balance of baggy + tailored. These have a tiny bit of stretch too. I have a feeling I'll be taking them on a quite a few bike rides this (indian) summer.
A note of sizing: these run a little big. I'm wearing size 2 here. I mostly wear medium with Everlane. (In fact, the tshirt is a medium.) So, I was pretty sure size 4 would fit. I got both sizes, just in case, and ended up keeping size 2. Size 4 ones were far too... puffy, if you will. For the reference, I'm 121/5'7''(technically, 5'6'' and 1/2).
Everlane has really been killing it this year. The silk, trench, poplin, shirt dress, and now the shorts. Bravo! Have you gotten anything recently?
Had to include this photo because it's hilarious. I'm pretty sure I'm pontificating to the cat.
Steven Alan gets it. In addition to making spot-on gamine essentials, they curate a selection of other brands. And really, I should limit my shopping at Steven Alan to this time of the year. Even on sale, most of it is absurdly expensive. Although I find it's totally worth the discounted price. (Paid full price for this one. What's more depressing? I don't regret it at all.)
Besides stocking up on the basics (rs shirts + quality tights), here are the pieces that I'd pick...
all nighter preparing a demo this week
it was totally worth it.
when was the last time i stayed up all night?
4 pull ups! so close to my goal

It has been a couple of years since I've gotten clothes from J.Crew. I stopped by the store with my mom this past weekend and walked away with this piece. It is so incredibly soft, and the perfect length. (Biking approved.) Wore it the entire (long) weekend, and seriously contemplated washing it to wear on Monday. Is that disgusting or what?
It seems that everyone in the Bay area owns a bicycle. A couple of months ago, I would've scoffed at these people. Too much gear, too heavy, too tight, too spandex. Walking or longboarding just seemed like a much more straightforward experience.
In May, some of the people from the running group convinced me to ride with them. Mind you, my biking experience was limited to a couple of miles in total. I had no idea that what I was signing up for was a 25 mile race.
Surprisingly, I survived. Even more surprising, I didn't want to stop. I was flyingggg!
Two weeks later, the bike I had borrowed became mine. :) I'm still not down with spandex suits, but color me converted.
