"Bias is surmountable"

photo via ode to sleep

To round out this March-8th-inspired week, I wanted to share an article I keep coming back to every few months. It's written by one of the most brilliant women I know (who also happens to be my lucky brother's manager)Tamar Bercovici.

Her solution to overcoming gender bias at work? Bring value, and prove 'em wrong.

I love this because it puts the focus back on yourself. It's not about changing other people's views. It's about your skills, your enthusiasm, your work. It's something you can control. And this approach has the advantage of benefiting you regardless of somebody else's opinion. Win-win.
