Cute Poem

kempt hair
quite kempt hair at the beach (August, 2010)

My Dream by Ogden Nash
This is my dream,
It is my own dream,
I dreamt it.
I dreamt that my hair was kempt.
Then I dreamt that my true love unkempt it.

Never mind that there is no such thing as true love, and that it doesn't really rhyme. This poem is still pretty cute. Mhmm?

    1. Love is love! What exactly makes "true love" true in your mind?

I've definitely loved (deeply, I might add). I just don't think that falling out of love makes the love that I did have any less "true".

    2. "True love" is probably that thing most people express about their pets or their fancy shamncy kids. True love could be for ice cream sandwiches. But agreed falling out of love doesn't make the experience any less real. That love will resonate and be a part of you forever, whether you like it or not.

  3. Oh, and if you still believe in soulmates, I have a couple of links for ya:
    1) xkcd doing what they do best: on soul mates
    2) Tim Minchin's hilarious (and true) song
